My Bridal Shower

My maid-of-honor (cousin) did an AMAZING job on my shower. I was completely blown away by all of the little details she added around the Mill, like all the  framed pictures she took for our engagement photos. I'll get right to it.

In the morning I went to LUX Beauty Bar at Roop's Mill for a blowout, which turned out perfect! Then I made my way to  Mayberry Mill for my bridal shower. I was really excited when I found out (yes, I found everything about my shower a while back, but still surprised by all of the details) that my cousin was planning my shower at Mayberry Mill. It is a beautiful renovated Mill that is just perfect for about any event, especially a shower or wedding.

I was  overwhelmed with all of the wonderful, and many creative, gifts I received from all of my family and friends. It was nothing short of a perfect bridal shower.

What's Been Going On...

I never thought crazy busy would look so good on me! I also thought I would have much more time to blog with my new job that is so close to home, but I guess with all the wedding planning, I just lost track of time. So...for starters, Ryan also got a new job career ( that word sure does make me feel old). His new job career has fantastic benefits for him and us. He will also have more time to focus on starting his side business ( that we hope and pray it will turn into a great success, which I think it will!). Along with Ryan's new job, we added a new member to the family....that's right! We are proud owners of a brand new 2015 RAM 2500 Cummins for his commute to work! It was also on out bucket list of things to do for ourselves before we start having kids:

1. Go to Germany Fall 2015
2. Buy me a brand new Jeep
3. Buy Ryan a brand new truck
4. Travel back to Punta Cana
5. New career for Shannon
6. New career for Ryan
7. Go back to Charleston a many more times ( this will likely carry over to be a family tradition)

We have also finally finished out back patio! It was been a year in waiting to get that thing put in. It is so nice to be able to sit out back, grill and eat dinner out there. I was also able to get Ryan's dirt bike out of our newly renovated basement by buying a shed, It is so nice to not have to climb over a huge ass dirt bike to get to the damn freezer!

Although we still have some things left to do to our home, it feels to go to call this place home with Ryan. I thank God everyday for all that we have in every way possible.

P.S. Now that I the wedding is getting closer I will be posting more of my DIY projects that I have done for the wedding.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

Catching Up

My, oh, my!
I have truly missed my blog in this short time. I needed a way out, but between starting my new job, being in physical therapy and doing things around the house, time got away from me. So I figured I would get some thoughts out while I have some time.

I started my new job last week and while it was a rough start the first two days, I made it through orientation and started my training. I can honestly say that I really like what I am doing and I really think I will continue to like it. this new job has truly been a blessing from the Lord himself. My drive time has gone from an hour and half, now to thirty minutes. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I go to my mom's gym for a morning workout and then head to work, and on Mondays and Fridays I am able to get a lot done around the house to help free up my weekends. I can literally feel the stress melt away since having this job. I am so grateful!

In other news... Ryan has started the process for adding a patio outback and redoing our walk way. Everything should be done Saturday. I must say, that I am looking forward to enjoying meals out back on the patio this Spring and well into the Fall.

Since we will be moving the grill from the deck to the patio, this frees up the deck for me to add two chairs and a small table. I can now enjoying my morning coffee and my book with the open room. Speaking of chairs and table for the deck... I have my eye on chairs and a table at Target that I am just waiting and hoping they go on sale. Whoever said "Diamonds are a girl's best friend," had clearly never been to Target. Pretty much everything at Target is a girl's best friend; at least in my opinion.

Threshold™ Afton 2-Piece Metal Stacking Patio Chair Set
And of course I will need to add some navy blue or mint blue pillows for comfort ;)

Now that I am settling into my new career, I hope that I can keep up with the blog and all of my favorite bloggers.

Five on Friday Link Up

Good Morning Y'all!

I'll get right down to my Five on Friday.

1| It is a bittersweet day for me, as today is the last day working at the firm. However, I feel so blessed to moving on to a better career and much closer to home. I have been praying for a career like this to come along, and sure enough God came through for me! =)

2| To celebrate my end and new beginning, Ryan and I are going out to dinner tonight. I absolutely love Longhorn Steakhouse and it is right down the road from us, so that is where we will be going.

3| We will finally have a Saturday where we aren't running around and not getting stuff done at home. It will be nice to stay home, clean and hangout around the house. (you know you are getting older when you are excited about cleaning your house on a Saturday.)

4| On Sunday we have our best friends gender reveal party. I am so excited to find out what they are having. My guess is a little baby boy.

5| I finally got another form of social media; Instagram! Up until now, I only have this blog and Pinterest. If you have any interest in following me on Instagram, here is the link: https://instagram.com/sweet_mayberry/

Catching Up

Just thought I would do a quick catch up day since I haven't been posting much. Considering my last day with the firm is this Friday, I have been extremely busy trying to close things up and clean out my office all at the same time. Needless to say, this week will be crazy at work.

In other news:

I finally found a cute white and navy blue rug to watch our living room. I got it at Target for $50. There is no way I could pass that deal up!

I made Easter baskets for the little ones.
The baskets for the two older kids consisted of:
Kites
Bubbles
Sidewalk Chalk
Rainbow Goldfish Snacks
Jelly Beans
Candy

The baby's basket consisted of:
Gerber baby cereal
An outfit
Bright Starts Vibrating Teether
Baby Orajel Teething Gel
Boogie Wipes Unscented Saline Nose

Palmer's first Easter. He and his Uncle Ryan just love spending time together! It melts my heat seeing them together!

Ugh...and the toughest part about leaving; giving up having my own office. Bittersweet. I have taken home almost all of my law books, but I think I'll wait to take home the rest.

Although I am giving up having my own office, I am SO excited to be starting my new job next week. I feel extremely blessed to have been given such an opportunity with this new job.

Time to say Hello to a new beginning that I am very ready for!

Happy Monday, Y'all!

DIY: Make Up Brush Holder

Since I love anything that is monogrammed, I thought it would be nice to make myself and each of my bridesmaids a monogrammed make up holders.
What you'll need:
1 | Glass tumblers ( I got mine for $1 at Target)
2 | Vase Filler ( I got mine from Target)
3 | Monogrammed stickers (see below for the Etsy store I used for the stickers)
4 | Make up brushes
This is just part of their gifts, I plan on monogramming more for the girls.

New Floors

After being in our house for almost a year now, we finally ( and by we, I mean Ryan), got around to putting in wood floors. It is so nice that Ryan is very handy and can do revocations like this throughout the house.

Before:

After:

Ryan kicked me out for the day, so it was really nice coming home to see the wonderful job he, his dad and a few of our friends did. Still some little things to add and do here and there, but it is all done for the most part. Now on to the rest of the basement, the patio and the other two bathrooms.
